India Trip is a Success : President Dr. Muizzu

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared his official state visit to India a resounding success. He made this announcement while addressing Maldivian citizens residing in Bangalore.


During the event, President Muizzu highlighted that the trip accomplished its primary objectives, particularly in strengthening the economic and social relationships between the two nations. "We have undertaken crucial work to safeguard the rights of Maldivian citizens and enhance their quality of life," he stated.


Emphasizing his commitment to a 'Maldivians first' policy, President Muizzu expressed that one of his administration’s pivotal goals will be to establish connections with global allies dedicated to improving the lives of Maldivians.


He also reaffirmed the enduring relationship between the Maldives and India, noting India's consistent support in times of crisis. 


As part of his visit, President Muizzu traveled to Mumbai to participate in a business forum, inviting Indian investors to explore opportunities in digital transformation within the Maldives. He also attended a special event featuring several Bollywood celebrities, promoting the Maldives as a premier tourism destination and encouraging these stars to consider visiting the islands for future film projects.


In addition to meeting with Indian President Droupadi Murmu, President Muizzu engaged with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior officials. He also took part in the India-Maldives Business Forum in New Delhi, further strengthening the collaborative ties between the two nations.
