The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has informed the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) of Mr. Ibrahim Nooradeen’s dismissal, effective Thursday. With his departure, the MACL Board now consists of five members, including the current CEO, Mr. Shareef.

Ibrahim Nooradeen has held the position of board director at MACL for a considerable period. His removal comes at a time of significant changes, including the plans for relocation of the newly opened seaplane terminal to the Full Moon area and construction of the new airport terminal at Velana International Airport.

In addition to his role at MACL, Nooradeen serves as a director at Kasa Holdings Pvt Ltd and is a board member of the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI).

The PCB did not provide a reason for Nooradeen's removal from the MACL board.

Earlier, MACL Chairman Mohamed Umar Maniku also resigned, further contributing to the current restructuring.

The MACL board is mandated to have nine members, including the chairman, leaving four positions vacant on the Board of Directors.
