MRI services were introduced at R. Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital last night. This addition is part of ongoing efforts to elevate the hospital to a tertiary level of care. Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim, who inaugurated the service during a ceremony at the hospital, emphasized that the MRI service is a crucial step in this upgrade.
Alongside the MRI service, the hospital also launched platelet plasma treatment (PRP) for individuals suffering from joint pain. The hospital, which already provides CT scan services and serves over 70,000 people annually, will now offer an expanded range of diagnostic imaging with the inclusion of MRI.
In recent months, the hospital has also introduced other services, including a "Well Woman" clinic, a reproductive health center, laparoscopic surgery, and various specialties, all contributing to the enhanced healthcare options available to the community.
