Authorities have launched an investigation into a violent incident in Thaa Atoll Thimarafushi, where a group of five individuals forcefully entered a residence and assaulted a victim.

The police confirmed receiving reports about the incident at approximately 13:30 hrs yesterday but have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack.

According to accounts circulating on social media, the attackers used a sharp object to injure the victim.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the case, the police added.
