A delegation from the Kaafu Atoll Thulusdhoo Council departed for Thailand yesterday to promote local tourism. The group, comprising four councilors, including the council president and vice-president, along with three administrative staff, is participating in a week-long roadshow in Thailand.

During last Tuesday's council meeting, it was decided that the council would bear the expenses for tickets, accommodation, and meals for the participants. However, further details regarding the trip have not been disclosed.

Thulusdhoo, a popular destination for local tourism, is home to over 30 guesthouses that cater to visitors.

Notably, this is not the first time local councils have participated in international events to promote tourism. Last November, a delegation from Addu City attended the World Travel Market in the UK. That trip, which included ten representatives, faced criticism for its high cost of over MVR 700,000.
