The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) hosted a special promotional event, ‘Maldivian Night,’ in Mumbai, bringing together over 100 Bollywood celebrities and influencers from India. The event took place over the past weekend at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai.
According to a press statement issued by MMPRC, the event was strategically organized in collaboration with India’s largest Travel Trade Exhibition, OTM Mumbai, to strengthen tourism ties between India and the Maldives.
A star-studded guest list included Bollywood personalities such as Farah Khan, Mouni Roy, Fardeen Khan, Vihaan Samat, Angad Bedi, Mandana Karimi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and several renowned influencers like Shashank Sajwan, Richi Shah, Ruchi Soni, Shifa Merchant, Rahul Jagtiani, Monisha, Brinda Shah, Stefanie Timmins, Paresh, and Salman Merchant.
MMPRC highlighted that the combined reach of the influencers attending the event exceeded 200 million followers. The corporation further stated that many of these celebrities and influencers would visit the Maldives in the future as part of promotional campaigns to boost tourism.
Speaking at the event, MMPRC MD Ibrahim Shiuree emphasized India’s significance as a key market for Maldivian tourism, noting that such initiatives provide valuable opportunities to promote the destination.
India remains one of the top source markets for Maldivian tourism, with over 130,000 Indian tourists visiting the country last year. MMPRC has set an ambitious target to welcome 300,000 Indian visitors in 2024.
