Since its opening in February 2023, Kudagiri Picnic Island has welcomed over 54,000 visitors, according to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). Designed to accommodate 500 to 600 visitors daily, the island offers various amenities, including water sports facilities, a mosque, a clinic, shops, private rooms, changing rooms, and event rental options.

To enhance accessibility, HDC has introduced an information counter in Hulhumale' to facilitate travel and bookings. Additionally, starting in April, service hours will be extended to 11:30 pm, allowing for more events.

HDC Managing Director Mauroof Jameel, Chairman Ahmed Nasif, and board members recently visited the island to inspect operations and oversee a tree-planting program addressing concerns over the lack of shade trees. The initiative was part of Kudagiri’s second-anniversary celebrations.

Customer satisfaction with Kudagiri’s services stands at over 70 percent, reflecting positive visitor experiences. To attract more guests, plans are underway to establish a dive center in collaboration with Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Kudagiri is accessible via ferry from both Male' and Hulhumale', with a travel time of approximately one hour.
