On February 23, an 18-year-old youth, Mohamed Ilmu from Maradhoo Feydhoo, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in Hulhumeedhoo. The incident took place at approximately 11:30 AM while Ilmu was training for the 'Enmenge Drag Championship,' organized by the Addu Motor Racing Association.

During practice, he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a house under construction. Ilmu was initially treated at Addu Equatorial Hospital but was later transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Malé due to the seriousness of his condition. IGMH confirmed that he is now in the Intensive Care Unit and on ventilator support. His injuries remain undisclosed at this time.
