Sheikh Salah Al-Budair, the Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Al Nabawi, has received royal approval from King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia to officially visit the Maldives. This marks a historic occasion, as it will be the first visit by a Masjid Al Nabawi Imam in over four decades—the last being for the inauguration of the Islamic Centre.
According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Al-Budair's visit will include delivering a Friday sermon at the Islamic Ministry and a public religious address. He is also scheduled to meet with Maldivian Islamic scholars and tour the Salman Mosque, which was constructed with support from Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the Sheikh is expected to pay a courtesy visit to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his stay.
