The Home Ministry has issued an advisory regarding the settlement of pending expatriate fees.
Employers are required to settle any outstanding expat fees amounting to less than MVR 100,000 within the next two weeks.
Failure to comply with this directive may lead to the disclosure of the names of defaulting employers. Additionally, such actions may result in the removal of these businesses and individuals from the expatriate systems.
Home Ministry has recently received MVR 182 million as part of the pending MVR 13 billion in expat fees and fines.
Ministry has urged all concerned parties to prioritize the settlement of these fees to avoid any adverse consequences.
