Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Trinh Thi Tam, presented her Letters of Credence to the President, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held on Monday morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from Republic Square in a cultural procession called “Haiykolhu" with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The Ambassador presented her Letters of Credence to the President, who accepted it and welcomed her as the Ambassador of Viet Nam to the Maldives.
Following the presentation, the President and Ambassador explored potential areas for collaboration, such as trade and investment, tourism, education, and fisheries.
Diplomatic relations between Maldives and Viet Nam was established on June 20, 1975.
The Ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as a non-resident Ambassador and resides in Sri Lanka.
