Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, has resumed operations to Kooddoo Airport as of Tuesday. This move comes after the GA. Atoll airport underwent significant renovations to repair its runway.
Operations to Kooddoo were suspended on October 11 when the airline decided to ground two of its aircraft due to the deteriorating condition of the airport’s runway and apron.
Maldivian Airline confirmed the resumption of flights to Kooddoo, stating, "they have resumed flights and that there are currently two weekly flights in operation, but also reassured that Maldivian will resume normal services soon."
Kooddoo Airport has an interesting history; it was constructed by Bonavista Maldives and originally opened in 2012. The airport underwent further renovations by Pristine Island Investment and was reopened in 2017, enhancing facilities for travelers and ensuring better service.
As the airline works toward restoring its normal flight schedule, passengers can look forward to increased connectivity with the beautiful GA. Atoll region.
