Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee has unanimously approved the appointment of Fuad Thaufeeq as Maldives Ambassador to Thailand.

Fuad's nomination was forwarded to parliament on November 25, shortly after completing his tenure at the Elections Commission (EC) on November 23. Having served two terms at the EC, his second term began in November 2019. As per EC regulations, members cannot serve more than two terms.

With a career in election organization spanning back to 1978, Fuad brings extensive experience to his new diplomatic role.
