President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will embark on an official visit to Estonia from January 13 to 16, marking the first visit by a sitting Maldivian President to the European country.
The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore collaborative opportunities in various fields, including digital transformation, cybersecurity, e-governance, climate and environmental issues, and science and education.
During his trip, President Muizzu is scheduled to meet with Estonian President Dr. Alar Karis, President of the Estonian Parliament Lauri Hussar, and several Estonian ministers. He will also visit Tartu, Estonia’s second-largest city, where he will be welcomed by Mayor Urmas Klaas.
The President is set to participate in a roundtable discussion organized by the Digital Advisory Council to the President of Estonia.
Accompanying him on this historic trip will be Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, and a senior government delegation. Additionally, a private delegation of local tech community leaders will join the visit to engage with Estonian companies and institutions specializing in technology and innovation.
