During a visit to HA. Filladhoo, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting commercial projects through low-interest loans.
Addressing the people of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu atolls, the President emphasized the need to facilitate tourism development in these regions. He pledged to expedite the construction of lands already designated for tourism projects in Filladhoo and announced plans to issue loans with favorable terms to accelerate development.
“The government wants to enable the development of these places. Given the current situation, delays will occur if we rely on loans with terms that are not feasible under the regular banking system,” President Muizzu stated.
He further revealed that discussions with the Finance Minister regarding the issuance of these loans have been successfully completed, and the process is now approaching the implementation stage.
According to the President, these financial initiatives will provide significant relief and support for the growth of tourism in islands like Filladhoo.
