Parliamentary Group Leader of the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) has denied speculation that Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla is at risk of being removed from his position.

"There is no effort to remove the Speaker. Nothing of that sort is happening," Falah confirmed to Mihaaru News.

The rumors emerged following the dismissal of Abdul Raheem’s son, Ibrahim Faisal, from his position as Minister of Tourism, leading to speculation that Abdul Raheem had also fallen out of favor.

However, multiple PNC members of parliament have dismissed these claims as baseless, stating that no such plans are currently in motion.

In a post on social media platform X, Abdul Raheem expressed pride in Faisal’s service as Tourism Minister, highlighting his integrity, sincerity, and contributions to the sector.
