President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the new Police Station in Thakandhoo, Haa Alif Atoll. The inauguration ceremony took place during his ongoing official visit to the atoll.
As part of the event, President Muizzu hoisted the national flag at the Police Station, while Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau raised the Police flag. Following the formalities, the President toured the newly established facility.
During the visit, Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, laid the foundation for the new Council offices in Thakandhoo. Additionally, work has commenced to install an ATM on the island, improving financial accessibility for residents.
Thakandhoo is one of ten islands included in President Muizzu’s three-day visit to Haa Alif Atoll. Later today, he is scheduled to visit Maarandhoo, Hoarafushi, and Ihavandhoo. Accompanying him on this trip is a delegation of cabinet ministers and senior State officials.
