Police Urge Public to Refrain from Sharing Images of Hulhumale' Incident

Police have called on the public to avoid sharing photos or videos related to the death of a man who fell from a STELCO flat in Hulhumale' Phase Two.


In a statement, authorities urged restraint out of respect for the grieving family, stating, "At this time of grief for the family, we request the public not to circulate photos of the deceased and scenes of the incident on social media."


The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Ibrahim Shareef. He is believed to have fallen from the ninth-floor balcony of a STELCO flat building sometime last night. However, his body was only discovered on the ground floor of STELCO Tower C late this afternoon.


Police have not disclosed further details but confirmed that an investigation is underway.
