The 19-year-old victim involved in the collision between a police car and a motorcycle on December 26th has been transferred to India for further treatment. Since the accident, the victim had been receiving care at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), followed by treatment at the Deco Chamber at ADK Hospital. After 20 days, he was transferred to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at IGMH.

A family member shared with Mihaaru News that a neurologist at IGMH recommended neuro-rehabilitation, which is unavailable locally. As a result, the family applied for Aasandha support, and upon confirmation, the victim was flown to Amrita Hospital in India last Thursday.

The victim remains unconscious, though the family noted some positive changes. "Physiotherapy is being administered daily, and we've seen improvements in his movements. He was previously reliant on machines for monitoring, but now doctors and nurses check on him every three hours," said the victim's brother.

Previously, physiotherapy sessions were only given three times a week. The hospital has informed the family that efforts will begin tomorrow to help the victim regain consciousness. The family remains hopeful, noting improvements in his condition each day.
