In a joint operation with the police, Maldives Immigration has deported two women on work visas in connection with a large-scale prostitution ring. The women, aged 44 and 38, are both Vietnamese nationals.
A third individual, a 37-year-old Laotian woman, was also arrested in the operation and is expected to be deported soon, according to Immigration officials.
Authorities have previously conducted targeted operations to identify and deport expatriates involved in prostitution. Since the current administration took office, more than 5,000 foreign nationals have been deported through the collaborative efforts of Maldives Immigration and the police in tackling illegal immigration.
