The Male' City Council has awarded a contract to UH Investment Pvt Ltd for the demolition of the current stage at Alimas Carnival and the construction of a modern, new stage. The contract, valued at MVR 4.8 million, was finalized on Friday, with a set completion date for the end of July this year, allowing the company 140 days to complete the project.

The council had previously announced its plans to replace the aging stage on December 5 of last year. The existing structure, which was built in 2004 to mark the 75th anniversary of Majeedhiyya School, has deteriorated over time and is now in a state of disrepair.

Mayor of Male' City, Adam Azim, shared a preview of the new design, emphasizing that the long-neglected stage would soon be transformed into a "state-of-the-art" facility.
