The Parliament wrapped up today's session prematurely, ending proceedings after only 1 hour and 34 minutes without completing the full legislative agenda.

The sitting began with an emergency motion from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) MP Hussain Ziyad of Vaikaradhoo, highlighting concerns over more than 120 tonnes of yellowfin tuna that remain unweighed. Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla allocated one hour for this debate.

Next on the agenda was a proposed amendment to the Judges Act, introduced by ruling People's National Congress (PNC) MP Saudhulla Hilmy of North Thinadhoo. However, the debate was cut short after just three MPs spoke, as the Speaker adjourned the session, noting that several MPs still wished to contribute. He stated the debate would continue during the next sitting, scheduled for Monday.

The early adjournment meant that a report by the SOE Committee on MMPRC and MITDC was left untouched for the day.
