Ooreedoo will join as a digital partner for Maldives Living Expo.
Ooredoo is a telecommunications firm based in Doha, Qatar, operating on a multinational scale. Established in 1987 as Qatar Telecom (Qtel), it was the first and only telecom provider in the country at the time. The firm grew quickly throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia in the 2000s, obtaining shares in local telecom companies.
Ooredoo entered the Maldives as Wataniya Telecom Maldives Private Limited and officially launched its operations on August 1, 2005 after being awarded a second mobile operator license by the government. On that date, it commenced service as the first real competitor to the state‑owned Dhiraagu, breaking a longstanding telecom monopoly in the country.
Maldives Living Expo 2025 features 20 sponsors and more than 30 exhibitors, emphasizing support for first-time homebuyers while presenting premium lifestyle and real estate options locally and globally. The event will welcome all attendees from 16:00 hrs to 22:30 hrs at Central Park, Hulhumale' on August 14-17, with the inaugural day specifically for Trade Visitors from 16:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs.
