President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has vehemently denounced the plan of Israeli occupation authorities to take control of Gaza.

In a post on his official X account today, the President labeled any such action as a clear breach of international humanitarian law and a significant violation of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

The President highlighted that this action would exacerbate the hardships in the occupied Palestinian areas and jeopardize enduring peace and stability in the region. He reiterated the Maldives’ steadfast support for the Palestinian people and emphasized that any effort to take control of Gaza or diminish Palestinian authority and sovereignty was intolerable.

President Dr Muizzu emphasized that the Maldives calls on the global community to take immediate, decisive actions to halt the execution of Israel’s plan, to cease Israeli hostilities in Palestine, and to guarantee accountability for all breaches occurring in the occupied Palestinian areas.
