The Prosecutor General's Office (PG) has officially asked the Criminal Court to revoke the passport of Ahmed Saeed, ex-Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, referencing an intelligence report provided by the police.
Saeed's passport was first seized in October of the last year due to an active inquiry by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Ahmed Shafeeu, representative of the PG Office, verified to Sun that Saeed filed a request in May, along with medical records, asking for authorization to leave the country. Shafeeu mentioned that the office had originally approved the release of Saeed's travel documents for a duration of 15 days.
Nonetheless, following this approval, the office has since requested the Criminal Court to refuse the passport's issuance, citing an intelligence report obtained by the police, as mentioned by Shafeeu. He refrained from giving additional information regarding the report.
It is important to mention that in another Fenaka-related case in December, the PG office officially charged Saeed with the misuse of his official position.
Saeed and one other person have been linked to a transaction from 2018.
That same year, a deal between Fenaka and Blazon Inc. led to claims that Blazon Inc. disbursed money for tasks that were either unfinished or not verified as completed.
