The individual who took five laptops from Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and sold them has received a nine-month prison sentence.

The robbery occurred on December 21, 2024.

Hassan Shakeeb, Th. Miriyaasge. Gaadhiffushi invaded HDC’s project management office in Hulhumale’ Phase II and took five laptops.

Shakeeb admitted in court that he had sold the laptops for MVR 1,700.

The case was expedited in court following the acceptance of guilt. Shakeeb received a degree of leniency because he confessed to his wrongdoing. In this context, he received a sentence of nine months and 18 days in jail, unlike the one year, seven months and six days that constitutes the true penalty for the offense.

The court delivered the verdict in the criminal case on Wednesday. The case was overseen by Judge Ali Nadheem.
