A blood donation drive took place in Hulhumale’ to commemorate India's 79th Independence Day.
Annually, the Indian High Commission in the Maldives organizes a blood donation drive to commemorate India's Independence Day, in partnership with the Maldives Blood Service. This year’s event commenced at the Hulhumale’ Orange Hiyaa on Friday afternoon.
In an interview with PSM News, Ahmeem Farish, the Director General of Maldives Blood Service, reported that the campaign had 105 individuals donating blood. He thanked the Indian High Commission for arranging such an event.
In conjunction with the campaign, the Maldives Blood Service and Male’ Group of Hospitals conducted special discussions with the Indian High Commission. The meetings concentrated on pinpointing areas requiring support and improving the services offered by the Maldives Blood Service.
Alongside foreigners, Maldivians took part in the event and supported the initiative.
