Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially launched self-service ATM banking facilities in H.Dh. Finey today, celebrating yet another achievement in its nationwide program “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM”. The event was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Cabinet Ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, along with high-ranking officials of the nation’s primary financial institution.

The Finey launch is included in a broader expansion strategy throughout Haa Dhaalu Atoll, as BML is planning to roll out ATM services in 10 more islands this week. Upon completion, each populated island in the atoll will have ATM access, guaranteeing that communities enjoy consistent banking services nearer to their homes.

During the inauguration, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef emphasized the Bank’s dedication to empowering the community by enhancing financial access.

"Our commitment to enlarging the ATM network in Finey and surrounding areas demonstrates our pledge to make banking more accessible to our community." Both residents and visitors can now take advantage of round-the-clock access to top-notch self-service banking without having to journey to another island,” he stated.

BML’s growth occurs as President Muizzu’s government focuses on decentralization, enhanced digital access, and community-led economic development. The government has continually highlighted the importance of financial inclusion in empowering citizens, which aligns with BML’s strategic plans.

BML, the largest financial institution in the Maldives, has 41 branches spread over all 20 atolls, along with 146 Self-Service Banking Centres, 204 ATMs, and a wide range of sophisticated digital banking services. Through this expansion, the Bank enhances its standing as a cornerstone of national growth and a reliable ally in achieving financial autonomy across the nation.
