The badly decomposed remains of a man, thought to be a missing foreigner, were found near the Hulhumale' Water Theme Park on Monday.

Authorities verified on Monday night that a dead man was discovered at the Water Theme Park location in Hulhumale' and announced they are looking into the situation.

Reports reveal that the individual who passed away has been recognized as a 29-year-old man from Nepal, who was reported as missing to the authorities on Friday after last being spotted on Thursday.

Officials are said to be struggling to recognize the person because of the advanced level of decomposition of the remains.

The Water Theme Park, granted to a Malaysian firm in 2017, is still unfinished and the site is presently vacant.
