Fathimath Shifanaaz, a young working mother of three expecting her fourth child is facing hardships as her husband Mohamed Ashfam, Hoarafushi Airport Manager — was abruptly transferred to a different island with no prior notice.

In an emotional Facebook post, Shifanaaz expressed her frustration at this turn of events, describing the pain that a mother goes through during pregnancy and how her husband’s abrupt transfer to the island of M.Muli during a critical time when she needs him the most has exacerbated her difficult condition. She called out the government for their cruel and inconsiderate action.

While the exact reasons of the transfer remain unclear as both Ashfam and Shifanaaz have not made any comment since, Shifanaaz has speculated in her post that it was due to political reasons, such as him being vocal about the misconduct of the government and using social media to raise awareness against the injustices committed by them.
