Ex-Minister Hamdhoon assumes office as planning advisor

Hamdhoon Hameed, the former Minister, has been named Planning Advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Planning, holding a ministerial rank.


The ministry announced the appointment to Atoll Times on Tuesday. Media officer Ifad Waheed stated that Hamdhoon will be part of the planning department and will provide guidance on the creation of the national development plan.


“Ifad stated, ‘Hamdhoon is a past Planning Minister and knowledgeable in this area, so we will consult him for guidance in developing this plan.’”


Hamdhoon has formerly worked as the Planning Minister under the presidency of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. He represented the Inguraidhoo constituency in Parliament and was designated as the non-resident ambassador to Singapore during former President Abdulla Yameen's administration.
