Maldives and Nepal to strengthen collaboration on education, economy and regional platforms

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have committed to enhancing collaboration between the Maldives and Nepal, emphasizing education, economic diversification, and regional involvement.


The pledge was made during a meeting that took place on the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention Centre.


Both leaders reiterated the enduring friendship and strong bilateral ties existing between the two countries.


Conversations focused on enhancing cooperation in vital areas, such as education, economic diversification, and collective engagement in multilateral forums.


Emphasizing a common goal for sustainable growth and enhanced regional connections, President Muizzu conveyed his gratitude for Nepal’s ongoing assistance.
