The national airline, Maldivian, has revealed a decrease in Free Independent Travel (FIT) rates for visitors as part of efforts to boost local tourism.

The airline announced that FIT fares will be decreased by an average of 15 percent, which will lower the expenses of domestic travel and enable tourists to discover the country more easily. The updated fares are effective for flights starting today through November 2025.

The decrease in FIT prices is intended to boost tourism and offer substantial economic advantages to local communities and the broader industry, Maldivian stated in a release.

Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas stated that the initiative will enhance value for travellers and demonstrates the airline’s dedication to supporting local tourism.

Alongside reduced prices, Maldivian provides exclusive corporate rates for tourism companies, such as resorts and guesthouses. Operators seeking these packages are urged to reach out to the airline directly.

Maldivian, possessing the largest domestic network in the country, currently runs flights throughout the Maldives, covering the northernmost atolls to 17 destinations in the south. Tickets can be purchased via the official site, online travel platforms, or Passenger Sales Agents.
