Foresight Surveyors Pvt Ltd, a premier innovator in surveying and engineering solutions, has introduced a pioneering leak detection technology in the Maldives, partnering with Japan's FUJITECOM. The advanced system, engineered to identify and pinpoint water leaks accurately, is poised to revolutionize maintenance practices throughout the country's tourism sector.

The official unveiling took place on September 3, 2025, at Hotel Jen, presided over by the Honorable Minister of State for Tourism and Environment, Abdulla Ziyad.

Kicking off the event, Foresight Surveyors’ Director, Firdous Hussain, highlighted the importance of embracing advanced technologies in the construction and tourism sectors of the Maldives. He emphasized how the organization has adopted remote-operated machines and sophisticated systems to improve efficiency, boost safety, and simplify operations.

The event also included a panel discussion with prominent figures regarding the impact of technology on building and managing tourism properties. The panel featured Ahmed Nuaim, Managing Director of Foresight Surveyors; Masahiro Shimomura, leak detection specialist from FUJITECOM; and Ramnaresh, Project Manager at Atmosphere Co., with Mohamed Hassaan from High-Rise serving as the moderator.

Throughout the discussion, Mr. Nuaim highlighted the increasing availability of advanced technologies, which were previously exclusive to major contractors, now accessible to local operators. He mentioned Foresight’s prior launch of a pile guidance system, which boosted productivity by almost 60%, as a key illustration of how adopting innovation aids the industry. Looking forward, he emphasized the significance of augmented reality (AR) in construction, pointing out its ability to minimize risks and improve project planning.

Ramnaresh shared observations from the tourism industry, highlighting the difficulties resorts encounter in conducting surveys and identifying leaks while ensuring guest privacy, especially in intricate underground water systems.
