President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has praised the United Nations General Assembly for its approval of the New York Declaration regarding the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestine Issue and the Execution of the Two-State Solution.

In a message posted on his official X account, President Muizzu stated that such declarations are essential for reinforcing global agreement and guaranteeing accountability for the rights of the Palestinian people.

He emphasized the Maldives' strong backing for the declaration and its appeal for united global efforts.

The President highlighted that the Maldives remains committed to supporting the creation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, founded on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital.

Reiterating the Maldives’ historic stance, President Muizzu emphasized that the nation is dedicated to collaborating with the global community in achieving a two-state solution and will persist in expressing support for the Palestinian cause.
