The President’s Office has terminated the Media Fenda as of today, citing ongoing disregard for set regulations. The announcement was made in Press Statement No. 2025-001.

Inaugurated on 29 May 2025, the Media Fenda was established to enhance interaction between media and Government bodies by providing recognized journalists with access to information and reporting chances. The President’s Office stated that the facility had not been operated according to guidelines.

Even though Official Passes were provided to selected journalists, those without passes managed to enter by pretending to be media members and consistently violated the regulations. Approved journalists also expressed worries regarding challenges in collecting news.

The declaration also highlighted that violations of public safety rules, disturbances to guests in the Green Zone, and hindrance of news gathering played a role in the decision.

Even after its dissolution, the President's Office emphasized that it, along with other Government entities, is still accessible to journalists for news reporting.
