The body of the last missing person from the landing craft Almark-Fiya, which capsized near K. Eriyadu, was recovered on Saturday night.

Seven people were on board when the vessel overturned last Thursday. Four individuals were rescued by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), while three were reported missing.

The MNDF recovered the bodies of two of the missing crew members on the same day as the incident. The third body was found floating between K. Ailafushi and Villa Nautica on Saturday night.

Authorities confirmed that the deceased was a Sri Lankan national. The other two victims were an Indian and a Maldivian. The Sri Lankan victim has been identified as Ahmed Shifan, aged 38.

The incident occurred as the Maldives Meteorological Service had issued a weather advisory urging seafarers to take precautions due to rough conditions.
