The opposition coalition, which includes the PPM and the PNC, has announced preparations for a nationwide rally this weekend.

It will begin at 16:00 on Friday in front of the PPM headquarters in Male' City and will be held concurrently on all of the Maldives' islands.

Sujau indicated that if there is a protest, it will begin outside of Male' on each island's PPM office.

According to the opposition coalition, the rally will be non-violent.

Abdul Raheem Abdulla (Adhurey), the PNC's leader, also asked people to join the demonstration at a press conference on Tuesday. He also urged islanders to join the rally in Male'.
