Women's Development Committee Members salary to be doubled

According to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the salary of Women's Development Committee (WDC) members will be increased starting in January of next year.


As part of the President's and First Lady's ongoing tour of Shaviyani and Raa Atoll, President Solih delivered this statement at a meeting with the Sh. Lhaimagu Council and the World Development Corporation (WDC).


At the meeting, The President promised to enhance salary and allowances for WDC members starting in January. It was reported on August 17 that the administration has decided to raise wages for WDC members.


It was pointed out by President Solih, who reminded councils that they now have the authority and financial autonomy to direct development in their areas.


As a result of the wage modification in January, WDC members will be paid MVR 6,000 per month instead of MVR 3,000.
