Visit Maldives is collaborating with Mr Faisal Al Mosawi, Guinness World Record holder for the fastest scuba diver (disabled diver) to market the Maldives as a holiday destination.

A statement issued by MMPRC stated that Faisal Al Mosawi will be travelling to the Maldives in October 2021 to attempt his second world record as the fastest scuba diver (disabled diver).

According to MMPRC, Mr Faisal Al Mosawi and his team will be documenting and showcasing their entire trip to the Maldives through the Guinness World Record show and also a special documentary based on his journey to break a second world record will be shown.

"We believe that this is an amazing opportunity to showcase colourful underwater beauty and to establish the destination as one of the best dive destinations for all" stated the statement released.

This opportunity would be ideal to portray the Maldives not only as one of the best dive destinations but also as a preferred holiday destination for anyone who dreams of having a vacation on sandy shores, said MMPRC.

Mr Faisal Al Mosawi is a disabled diver and athlete who has proven that his physical limitations can’t stop him from breaking a Guinness World Records title. The 33-year-old has managed to set a new record for the Fastest 10 km scuba diving in an inspirational 5 hours and 24 minutes dive in Hurghada on 22 August 2018.
