High Court judge Mohamed Faisal resigned from his post on Sunday while the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) continues an investigation into allegations of corruption and money laundering.
Faisal has not stated the reason for his resignation. His conduct is also under inquiry by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
According to the ACC, the case was filed following a police complaint. The commission said the allegations involve corruption and money laundering, and investigations are ongoing.
The JSC, which is controlled by the government, is also examining cases involving four High Court judges. Among them is Justice Mohamed Niyaz, who recently resigned as Vice-President of the JSC. The most senior judge on the High Court bench has also filed for retirement.
