Another Bomb Threat to “Destroy the Maldives”

A threat to “detonate a bomb soon” and “destroy the Maldives” was found scribbled inside a pillar of a mosque in Maldives. Maldives Police Service has begun investigating this threats and are yet to confirm who was behind the act. The mosque has since been closed off.


Police media official revealed that further investigations are currently underway.


 


Security forces across the entire nation have been strengthened as a special operation was launched following the IED blast that targeted the life of Former President Mohamed Nasheed on May 6. Since the terrorist attack, Maldives National Defense Force is monitoring security nationwide with close attention.


 


The May 6 terrorist attack which took place in the heart of the capital Malé City, injured the Former president. Nasheed is currently in the United Kingdom for further treatment.
