A deputy minister from the Ministry of Language and Culture has finished research on utilizing Maldivian poetry as a type of psychological therapy, stated Minister of Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim on Saturday.
The minister announced last year that the government would investigate the potential for traditional Maldivian poetry to be utilized in therapeutic contexts. In May, the concept was officially recognized by the term Lhen Faruvaa as its Dhivehi name.
Advancement on the initiative has been sluggish, raising public inquiries about the feasibility of such treatment. During a press conference at the President's Office, Naseer stated that a deputy minister has finished a study on the topic, and the Maldives National University (MNU) is carrying out its own investigation.
"I have obtained a portion of the research project." I was also told that certain members of the public are conducting similar research. "Now, I have received the work of one person," he stated.
A collaboration between the ministry and MNU involves researchers exploring how Maldivian poetry may aid in addressing various mental health issues and identifying the most effective approaches.
The ministry has sought advice from specialists in the area, including those from the Society for Health Education (SHE), the Mental Health Centre, the Child Development Centre, and Dhamanaveshi.
