Riding a wave of international acclaim, Maldivian musical duo 2ofus is poised to embark on a landmark four-city cultural tour of India — a venture made possible through a partnership with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Fresh from their inaugural official overseas concert at Kuala Lumpur’s PJ Live Arts Theatre last November, 2ofus — alongside their collaborators Dream Beyond Borders — have rapidly ascended to the forefront of Maldivian music. Their breakthrough performance in Malaysia marked a new era, with the pair earning recognition as cultural ambassadors and forging new artistic connections across borders.
Now, the momentum continues as 2ofus prepares to represent the Maldives at the 11th India International Dance & Music Festival. Selected by the Indian Cultural Centre at the High Commission of India in Malé, the duo will perform in four major Indian cities — New Delhi, Chandigarh, Shillong and Bangalore — from 17 to 26 January. Each set will range from 30 to 60 minutes, tailored to the structure of each event.
The official itinerary is as follows:
For Ahmed Adhuham and Abdullah Shamrookh, the founders of 2ofus, this Indian tour represents more than just a series of performances — it is a statement of intent and a celebration of their evolution as cultural emissaries. ‘Each step forward reminded us that 2ofus is bigger than a band — it is a responsibility to represent our country. Starting 2026 with an ICCR tour shows that our journey has only just begun,’ they shared, reflecting on their rapid rise since Malaysia.
The duo first captured international attention as second runner-up during the Battle of the Bands International 2025 in India. Their upcoming tour not only cements their status as one of the Maldives’ most promising musical exports but also reinforces the nation’s growing cultural profile on the regional stage.
