Ooredoo Maldives has provided specialized underwater gear to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) to assist with maritime rescue efforts.
The contribution consists of an Ocean Reef M105 digital dual-channel communication system, a Lubell Labs underwater speaker, and three Ocean Reef full-face diving masks.
Khalid Al Hamadi, Managing Director and CEO of Ooredoo, presented the equipment at a ceremony that took place Tuesday at Bandaara Barracks. Defense Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon received the items for the MNDF.
The apparatus is engineered to improve underwater communication, ensure diver safety, and boost operational efficiency, essential features for the MNDF Coast Guard’s search and rescue operations.
Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, Chief of Defence Force, expressed gratitude to Ooredoo for its support, highlighting that the gear would greatly enhance the Coast Guard’s underwater and rescue missions in a nation heavily dependent on the ocean.
Hilmy commended Ooredoo’s ongoing assistance for maritime safety and national security.
During the event, CEO Khalid Al Hamadi emphasized that the ocean is essential to life in the Maldives, and the MNDF’s efforts are crucial for national security. He conveyed his pride in promoting diver safety and committed Ooredoo to making sustainable and impactful contributions to society.
