According to statistics provided by the facility, 3 couples who were treated at the National Fertility Center successfully conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The data was presented at an event on Tuesday to celebrate the first anniversary of the Fertility Center.

Based on the data, 578 couples sought advice at the center in the year since its launch at the Dharumavantha Hospital.

Ninety-six couples were chosen for IVF, with 23 couples achieving successful conception, and two resulting in births.

The initial baby created via IVF at the center arrived on January 7.

The Aasandha health insurance program was promised by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his 2023 campaign to be expanded to include fertility treatment services such as IVF and intrauterine insemination (IUI).

The National Fertility Center was officially inaugurated in November 2024.
