Maldives Airports Company Limited has successfully completed the VIA Blood Donation Camp 2026, a two-day event that took place on 1 February as part of the company's continuous corporate social responsibility efforts.
The blood donation event attracted significant involvement from MACL employees and personnel from various organizations at Velana International Airport, indicating widespread backing from the airport community. The effort was put together in partnership with and targeted at addressing an immediate demand for blood donations.
Per MACL, the initiative was carried out in response to recent calls from Maldives Blood Services, which pointed out difficulties in sustaining sufficient blood supplies. The initiative's timing was strategically coordinated with the preparations for the approaching month of Ramadan, a time when blood donations usually decrease due to fasting.
By bolstering national blood supplies before Ramadan, the VIA Blood Donation Camp played a key role in reinforcing the nation's healthcare system during an essential time. MACL highlighted that these initiatives continue to be a fundamental aspect of its dedication to social responsibility and community health.
Maldives Airports Company Limited highlighted that blood donation initiatives are held each year as a component of its extensive CSR strategy, underscoring the company’s commitment to aiding national health and humanitarian initiatives beyond its primary aviation activities.
