MNDF Special Forces win gold at International PATS competition in Pakistan

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) gained global acclaim when its Special Forces team clinched the gold medal at the 9th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition 2026, which took place in Pakistan.


The esteemed military drill occurred from February 5 to 7 at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, uniting 24 teams from the armed forces of 16 nations.


The MNDF team was made up of 15 Special Forces members who took part in a series of tough tactical and operational exercises aimed at evaluating combat preparedness, teamwork, and leadership in simulated combat scenarios.


Arranged by the Pakistan Army, the PATS Competition is seen as a prestigious international military event designed to improve interoperability, operational efficiency, and professional standards among the participating forces.


MNDF's success among a competitive array of global military forces demonstrates the ongoing enhancement of the organization's skills and professionalism.



The achievement also highlights the importance given to defence development under the direction and leadership of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Commander-in-Chief of the Maldives National Defence Force.
