Moms Aid has initiated donations for 300 at-risk families throughout the Maldives in anticipation of Ramadan, which is set to start next week.
This project is a component of the organization’s yearly ‘Ramadan Aid’ effort.
The organization stated that the campaign mainly aims to deliver crucial food items to at-risk families, guaranteeing they possess the required supplies during the fasting month.
Moms Aid is providing ‘Care Baskets’ worth MVR 1,200 each. These baskets are designed to align with Ramadan customs and dietary requirements, assisting families in navigating the fasting period with greater ease. Furthermore, community members have the opportunity to sponsor 'Iftar Packs' for MVR 75, providing direct assistance for families' evening meals to end their fast.
This year, the initiative plans to support 300 families facing difficult situations throughout the Maldives. Beneficiaries are chosen via Moms Aid’s thorough verification method to guarantee that the support reaches those who require it the most.
Since 2019, Moms Aid has been offering essential assistance to families experiencing difficulties.
The organization is currently welcoming donations. Along with financial contributions, tangible goods for the baskets—like vegetables, canned fruits, and milk packets— are appreciated. These items can be brought to Galolhu School from 16:00pm to 20:00pm tonight.
Zain Zareer, Operations Director of Moms Aid, emphasized that the campaign aims to alleviate the challenges encountered by families while fostering a sense of community.
