A man from Nepal has been detained for purportedly extorting money while selling a wardrobe on Facebook Marketplace.
Authorities reported the detention of 23-year-old Nakul KC from Nepal. On February 7, he was taken into custody following a judicial directive.
He was held in custody for 12 days when called to court. Authorities stated they were looking into additional complaints concerning the suspect.
Lately, there has been an increase in incidents of fraud and extortion via different social media networks.
